From the catalogue:
“My Blind Heart follows Kurt, a young man suffering from Marfan syndrome – a genetic disorder – as he lives a marginal life in the city of Vienna. Nearly blind, and at war with his own body, Kurt’s chaotic trajectory sees him evicted from a care facility and forced to share the shelter of an abandoned office-building with a group of society’s misfits. In heightened black-and-white, the film effectively conveys Kurt’s fantasies of a destruction that mirrors that of his disintegrating body. This relentlessly existential visual experience is richly textured, while its relentless sensory immersion powerfully suggests the protagonist’s imprisonment in his broken body.”

For the ability of shaping a black and white story in an unpredictable way, for the almost visionary experimentalism of the story. Finally we greatly appreciated the presence of the female protagonist, the young Jana McKinnon, whose face was a spark in this dark parable of desperation and psychological distress.”
